Baseball Information

Welcome to the Spring 2025 SJAA Baseball Season

We are excited to welcome new players & families and look forward to welcoming back returning families this Spring!  Thank you for your interest and participation in our baseball program!

Please see below for key information and what to expect as we prepare for the spring season:

Registration
Registration will open on 11/28/2024.  An extra Thanksgiving discount will be applied for registrations received on 11/28 or 11/29/2024.  The early bird discount will be applied through December 14.  

Registration ends January 8, 2025.  Late registrations will incur a late fee, and may not be accommodated.


Player Evaluations - Information & Schedule

Who:  8U and up. Divisions which need to participate will be confirmed as we end registration.

When:  
Saturday, January 18th

Where:
  Fields 1, 2, 3, & 4 (Our park address is 7641 Powers Avenue, Jax, FL 32217)

Schedule:
Coming soon.

What to expect:
Check-in will take place at the field with the each division's coaches and commissioner at the start of evaluations.  Please make every effort to arrive on time and plan to stay for the entirety of the scheduled evaluation time.   This event is coordinated to give your family an opportunity to meet our coaches and ask any questions. 

Coaches will use this time to assess age and skill set to ensure every player is appropriately placed within his or her team.  Please keep an open mind as we work through this process - we will be as efficient as possible out of respect for your time.  Practice schedules should be available at evaluations as well. 


What to bring:   
Please bring your player's equipment (helmet, glove, bat, cleats) so that he or she will be ready to participate.



Team assignments will be sent by Tuesday, January 21st.
Your coach will reach out during the week of January 20th to establish communication prior to practices beginning.  Your coach will introduce him/herself as well as provide details on team colors (pants, socks, belts).  Coaches will need to confirm uniform sizing details (provided by you at registration) for each of your players as soon as possible.  Please help your coach by responding promptly to ensure there is not a delay to your team's uniform order.

Practices will begin for most teams during the week of January 27th 
- your coach will notify you if he or she plans to begin sooner


Field Prep/Work Days are tentatively planned for February 8-9. 
This is a great opportunity for parents and players to get involved by getting our park ready for the season, and it is a great way for teenagers to earn volunteer hours.  Any change to this schedule will be communicated by your coach.


Games will begin by October March 1. 
Game schedules should be released at least 1 week before games begin (hopefully sooner).  The regular recreational game season will end May 3.



Important:

If you have extra equipment or items that your player has outgrown, feel free to bring it with you if you'd like to donate it to the park's supply or share it with younger players!


ALL players will need the following equipment:

-Helmet
-Baseball bat
(must be stamped with USA Baseball - no USSSA bats are allowed during rec games)
-Glove
-Cleats

Baseball games are typically played on Tuesdays and Saturdays in the Spring.  Many teams will likely have games scheduled on other weeknights as well.
